Criminal record cancellation
Information on Procedures
You will be asked to identify yourself and add a digital signature to the information you upload, pursuant to the requirements for accessing the Electronic Register.
This procedure is equivalent to physically submitting the form at the Ministry's General Register Office. The form digitally signed by the applicant will be recorded by the system in an entry in the Electronic Register.
Applications submitted via this channel will then follow the ordinary processing procedure through to completion.
Given the technical and control problems relating to classified criminal data, the applicant may only track the status of proceedings by sending a request with confirmation of his or her identity.
This can be done by means of:
- A document submitted electronically in the Ministry's Electronic Register.
- A written letter sent by post, accompanied by a certified photocopy of the document with which the application was made.
- In person, at the citizen services office, upon presentation of said document to the agent handling the request.
The applicant will receive a copy of the application form in printable format (PDF). This copy includes an application number and a record number (the “entry record”) which identifies your letter before the Ministry.
